Navigating Motherhood and Breast Cancer with Breast Cancer Healthline

I have partnered with Breast Cancer Healthline to lead discussions on how I navigate motherhood and breast cancer.

Navigating a cancer diagnosis with a newborn is wild. For starters you’re worried about learning how to grow into motherhood, all while ensuring you’re around to see your little grow into an adulthood.

I am so fortunate to have a thriving community surround me during this season: my husband, family, friends.

The truth? Even they can’t get it.
Sometimes it takes someone walking - all right, crawling - in your shoes to truly understand what’s at stake.

To navigate the terrifying appointments, to share selfies when the reflection in the mirror looks less like you and more like a potato, to brainstorm how to ensure your new husband feels like a husband and less of a nurse. (10/10 do not recommend having a baby and a cancer and during the first year of marriage!)

Image, then, if instead of searching hashtags on every social media platform known to humans for someone walking in your shoes, you could download an app built specifically for those slaying breast cancer and immediately connect with someone who knows exactly what’s on your plate?

Sign me up!

Well, to be fair, I already did. I dowloaded BC Healthline (available on Android and iphone), made a profile, and started chatting.

The app is organized into various chat subjects to ensure you’re able to find someone - or an existing conversation - that is pertinent to what you’re seeking!

Join me this month as I host three live chats.

  • Thursday, June 18 at 7:30pm CST: Being a COVID mom: balancing treatment, family, work, AND quarantine

  • Tuesday, June 23 at 7:30pm CST: Tips for childcare while undergoing treatment

  • Thursday, June 25 at 7:30pm CST: Tips and tricks for surgery prep

Join me:

  1. Download Breast Cancer Healthline on iPhone or Android. Turn on push notifications are turned on so you know when the chat is starting!

  2. Create a profile and find me behind the user name @RuralGoneUrban.

  3. Join me on June 18, June 23, and June 25 at 7:30 CST on the app!
